On his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers made a comment that might be the first significant indication of Virat Kohli impending return.
When De Villiers was asked if he intended to support RCB this year in the Chinnaswamy, he responded in a video posted to his YouTube page. After IPL 2020, which was his final season with the team, De Villiers departed RCB. Although supporters have been urging him to return in one capacity or another, this hasn't happened as of yet. De Villiers may have to postpone his reunion with the RCB this time around to visit Chinnaswamy to see a close friend.

Regarding his comeback to the RCB, de Villiers stated, "Nothing is confirmed yet." "Virat Kohli made a suggestion that he might like me to visit so that we can chat for a little while.
maybe the batter. I believe Andy Flower, Faf, and the team need to make the call. Please follow our live feeds as I will be in Mumbai for the first few weeks of the IPL, providing some commentary. For the knockouts, I'll be back at the backend as well.
That's it, then. De Villiers said pretty much everything, even though he did not formally declare Kohli's return to cricket through the IPL. Why would Kohli bring de Villiers over if he isn't going to participate in the IPL? More still. If he wasn't planning to see the IPL, why would he be in Chinnaswamy? It's a long shot, but it looks like this. Just in time for RCB's season opener against Chennai Super Kings on March 22, Kohli is back and better than ever.
Does De Villiers' disclosure refute Gavaskar's theory?
However, de Villiers' disclosure is limited to that. An idea. De Villiers was entirely correct when he said something not so long ago, but he later backed it off as a "mistake." And if what he said this time around is indeed true, it certainly refutes Sunil Gavaskar's theory regarding Kohli and the IPL. The iconic Indian batsman expressed some concern about Kohli's involvement in the IPL 2024 following his withdrawal from all five England Test matches.
Since Australia defeated India in the World Cup final in November, DKohli has played a relatively limited amount of cricket. For the home T20I series against Australia and the white-ball portion of the South Africa series, he was rested. After being included in the Indian Test team against the Proteas, Kohli scored 38, 76, 46, and 12 runs in Centurion and Cape Town. More than a year later, he returned to the Indian T20I team. Kohli missed the first game of the series against Afghanistan, but he made 29 and 0 in the second and third Twenty20 Internationals before focusing on the England Test series. However, he withdrew three days prior to the commencement of the first Test in Hyderabad, citing "personal reasons."
