Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, appeared in court today at Rouse Avenue. Enforcement Directorate, the investigative agency, is anticipated to propose a 10-day detention. Earlier, during the party's protest against Mr. Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate last night in the Delhi liquor policy case, AAP ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj were taken into custody by the police.

The ITO in Delhi, where security has been increased, is where AAP workers started their protest. To put an end to any protests, paramilitary soldiers dressed in riot gear have been called in. Every route that leads to The Delhi office of the AAP has been blocked. Sources told NDTV that Mr. Kejriwal has withdrawn his Supreme Court case challenging his apprehension. The chief minister will now file a lower court application over his Thursday night detention by a 12-person investigative team that entered his official residence with a search warrant.

The chief minister is now being questioned by the investigation team for the first time. Following his apprehension, the AAP declared that Mr. Kejriwal would carry out his duties as chief minister while incarcerated. "Arvind Kejriwal is and will remain the Chief Minister of Delhi... there are no two ways about it," Atishi, the head of the AAP, said. The investigation agency called the chief minister nine times, but each time, he declined to appear in front of it calling the summons illegal.
