On International Women’s Day, Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, unveiled the 'Kalalaku Rekkalu' electoral pledge for women in Andhra Pradesh who wish to take professional courses.
On March 8, International Women's Day, Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, unveiled the "Kalalaku Rekkalu" electoral promise. She claimed that under this plan, women who take out bank loans to study professionally will have their loans guaranteed by the TDP and Jana Sena alliance, should they win an election. The government will also pay back the full interest on these loans for the duration of the courses.
While promoting for the next Assembly elections, Bhuvaneswari stated the scheme's goal is to assist women in realizing their desire to pursue professional courses at a public meeting in Pattikonda. She stated that no Andhra Pradeshi daughter will have to give up on her goals because of money thanks to her program. Additionally, she stated that the program would enable all qualified women to pursue professional courses of their choosing anywhere in the nation, marking a huge advancement in Andhra Pradesh's women's empowerment.
On March 7, TDP chairman Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan met with BJP President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, allegedly to discuss forming an alliance between the three parties ahead of the 2018 Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. The subject of the negotiations was purportedly how many seats the BJP would receive as a member of the tripartite alliance.
The TDP and Jana Sena have declared their intention to share seats in advance. Out of 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats, the TDP has left 24 for the Jana Sena. On the same day, Jana Sena unveiled its list of five candidates and the TDP unveiled its first list of 94. Both Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu Naidu had said they would conduct discussions and make the proper choice if the BJP decided to enter the alliance.
