The All-Star center for Los Angeles was sidelined for the remainder of the game after suffering an eye injury late in the first quarter against the Golden State Warriors.
Warriors trainers were working on Davis in the locker room dominated the paint to defeat the Lakers 128-121 in a crucial game for the Western Conference.
Anthony was sorely missed. When he's in the paint, he plays like an incredible defender. In the second half, we made numerous trips to the rim because of his absence, according to Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Davis' injury was labeled an eye contusion by the Lakers.
With 2:47 left in the first quarter, the nine-time All-Star was driving to the hoop for a layup when Golden State's Trayce Jackson-Davis threw a stray elbow in his left eye. For the next five minutes, Davis continued to play, but as he headed to the locker room, his eye was swelled shut. His stats were four rebounds and eight points.
